Breast Implant Revision Before & After Case 582
Before & After
Case Details
This 44 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another physician. The patient was unhappy with the appearance of her breasts 6 years after a saline breast augmentation performed by another plastic surgeon. She felt her implants sat too high on her chest and looked “fake”. Dr. Parker explained the patient had developed capsular contracture, meaning thickened scar tissue, around both implants. After a discussion of various options between the patient and Dr. Parker, they arrived at the following operative plan. At a Sizing and Shaping Session pre-operatively, the existing saline implants were deflated under local anesthesia. Using sizer implants, the patient selected to have 300 cc silicone implants to be inserted. Dr. Parker used the patient’s existing inframammary incisions to remove her existing saline implants and performed total capsulectomies to remove the patient's thickened capsules. He created neo-subpectoral pockets, inserted the new 300 cc silicone implants and sutured ADM (Acellular Dermal Matrix) to the pectoralis major muscle and inframammary folds to help minimize the risk of recurrent capsular contracture. Postoperatively, the patient healed quickly with no pain. She says her breasts look and feel more natural now.
