Breast Lift with Implants Before & After Case 1637

This 53 year old is s/p a breast augmentation along with a vertical mastopexy (also known as a “lollipop lift”) by Dr. Parker 20 years ago. At that time, he inserted 275 cc saline implants into a dual plane location. She returned to have him check her implants even though she has been not having any issues with them and all mammograms have been normal. After examining the patient, Dr. Parker explained that her breasts continued to be very soft with the implants still properly filled. She should continue to get her annual breast exams by her gynecologist and mammograms for routine surveillance but the implants are just fine and nothing needed to be done. This is a fairly common occurrence in our practice whereby breast implants last much longer than the patients expect, certainly beyond the 10 year warranty period the implant makers typically provide. Unless there is an issue with the implants, nothing needs to be surgically and these implants can last a long time.
