Neck Contouring Before & After Case 1481

This 33 year old patient complained of a longstanding fullness in her neck which also lacked contour. When Dr. Parker examined the patient, he noted and explained to the patient, that she had excess pre platysmal fat (fat superficial to the paired platysma muscles) as well as subplatysmal fat (fat deep to the paired platysma muscles). He further explained to the patient that the pre platysmal fat could be removed with liposuction and the subplatysmal fat with direct excision through a small submental incision in the crease just below the chin. A platysmaplasty would be performed to suture the medial platysma muscles together creating a smooth contour. Because the patient had good skin tone, no additional incisions of skin removal would be required. Dr. Parker calls this procedure a Minimal Incision Neck Lift which could be performed under local anesthesia. The patient enthusiastically agreed with this plan. The surgery was subsequently performed by Dr. Parker several weeks later. The patient said the procedure and recovery were easy. She is thrilled by the significantly improved appearance of her neck and jawline.
