Neck Contouring Before & After Case 224

This 52 year old was referred to Dr. Parker by another patient, asking him to improve the fullness of and sagging skin in her neck. The patient was fine with the appearance of her face and really only wanted her neck addressed. Dr. Parker, after reviewing all options with the patient, performed a neck lift. During this procedure, using a relatively short, well-concealed submental incision in the chin crease, he removed excessive fat from beneath the paired plastysma muscles, then sutured them together (called a "medial platysmaplasty"). Using hidden incisions behind the ears, he then suspended the platysma muscles laterally (called a "lateral platysmaplasty") creating an "internal hammock" of support with these platysma muscles. Dr. Parker removed her excess superficial fat with liposuction, excised and tightened her loose neck skin with hidden incisions behind her ears to give a natural, long lasting improved contour to the neck. The patient recovered relatively quickly afterwards. She loves the natural-appearing rejuvenated contour of her neck without any visible scars.
